• Failure Is Not Final Unless You Give Up

    I could be mistaken, but I’m going to assume that the majority of you fitness fanatics have, at some point in time, come across the following motivational quote, {It takes 4 weeks for you to see your body changing, 8 weeks for your friends & family, & 12 weeks for the rest of the world.}

    Would you agree or disagree with that statement?!?

    Personally, I would have to say, I agree. Why, you ask? Well, because, I am currently wrapping up my twelfth week of training and each juncture noted above has reigned true.

    {Continuous effort – not strength or intelligence – is the key to unlocking our potential}

    Winston Churchill

    I don’t know about you, but I simply love Winston Churchill. His wit and wisdom never fail to captivate my heart. The prolific writer hit the nail on the head with the above statement. Comparable to life, bodybuilding irrefutably requires unyielding resilience. It is a sport of time. Muscle growth isn’t easy and it doesn’t come quickly for most people, but it does come IF you truly believe and have the passion and tenacity to conquer the inevitable obstacles. {Persistence and energy conquer all things.} When you stop living inside your self-inflicted boundaries you realize you are not only capable of but were destined for greatness. So, do yourself a favor when your goals prove to be challenging and STICK IT OUT. A well-built physique cannot be bought, inherited, stolen, or borrowed. It requires work, discipline, commitment, courage, focus, and unshakable drive. Remain motivated and be an overcomer.

    Everyone will have their own methods for what keeps them focused and determined to keep moving towards their goals. However, after some research, I have found the follower pointers to be the most sought after, utilized, & effective.

    1: Self-Efficacy

    Is the measure of the belief in one's own ability to complete tasks and reach goals. You will never know your limits unless you push yourself to them. You are entirely up to YOU. Make your body. Make your life. Make yourself.

    2: Family & Friend Support

    Taking up a new exercise regime will require many changes in your daily schedule. With a supportive family and friend network, this task will be much easier – trust me!

    3: A Positive Attitude

    Having a positive attitude toward your workout program will go a long way in helping you stay motivated and committed. When you have positive thoughts regarding exercise, it makes it seem like less of a chore and more of an enjoyable experience. If you remain positive at all times, even when you may not be seeing all the results you dreamed of, you will still be able to stay focused and look at how far you have come.

    4: An Action Plan

    By having everything outlined from the beginning you will know where you need to go and in what order. You will also have something to compare your progress to ensure you are on track with regards to your original plan

    5: Get Organized

    Being organized is imperative when you have fitness goals in mind. Everyday life poses numerous challenges, from sticking with a workout routine, from meetings, to family emergencies, to less than ideal weather. You need to be organized enough within your daily life to allow yourself a good deal of time each week to dedicate to fitness and preparing and cooking healthy meals.

    {Victory at all costs, victory in spite of all terror, victory however long and hard the road may be; for without victory, there is no survival - Winston Churchill}

    {It’s a rough road that leads to the height of greatness}

    {Nothing worth having was ever achieved without effort -Theodore Roosevelt}

    {Week 1}                                                {Week 13}

    Departing Encouragement:

    You deserve to live a life you are excited about. Don’t let the opinions of others make you forget that. You are not in this world to live up to the expectations of others, nor should you feel that others are here to live up to yours. In fact, the more you approve of your own decisions in life, the less approval you need from everyone else. You have to dare to be yourself, and follow you own intuition, however frightening or strange that may feel or prove to be. Don’t compare yourself to others. Don’t get discouraged by their progress or success. Follow your own path and stay true to your own purpose.
